In a Nutshell
This page explains the exciting opportunity to which we believe God has invited the Dinsmore family. I say “family“ because it has become clear that God’s call is not only for myself and Linda, but for our whole family.
Linda and I both sense a call to work in the mission field. In particular we believe we are being called to the field of intercessory missions. Intercessory missionaries dedicate themselves to building the kingdom of God through regular and concentrated periods of prayer and fasting. We are delighted to be joining with a community of believers from all over the United States who also believe that God has issued a unique invitation at this time to those who would dedicate themselves to this important ministry.
Our plans are to take a year long sabbatical and move to the Kansas City, MO area to join an organization called the International House of Prayer (www.IHOP.org). There we will enter into the “Intro to IHOP” program and receive a semester’s worth of training. After we complete training we would join the staff at IHOP as Intercessory Missionaries for the remainder of the year. Beyond that we are looking to God to help us discern if this is to be something we would continue to do for the long term or is something we are being called to for a season.
Between now and this summer we will be speaking with people, sharing what God has layed on our hearts and seeking those willing to partner with us financially as we explore this move into the missions field. We will be meeting face to face with as many of you as possible, and contacting the rest by phone. We would love to have the chance to share more with you what is on our hearts, how he has confirmed this in our children, and the amazing things we see God doing.
