Some History of Night and Day prayer:
Jerusalem - Tabernacle of David (~1000 BC): King David employed 4,000 full-time musicians and 288 singers (1 Chron.23-25).
Herrnhut,Germany (1727): A German nobleman, Count Zinzendorf, gathered persecuted Christians to his estate (“Watch of the Lord”). They began a prayer movement that continued for 120 years resulting in the first Protestant missions movement in history known as the Moravians.
Bangor, Ireland (555):
A Celtic monk named Comgall and his coworker Columbanus gathered 3000 monks to a place called Bangor (the “High Choir”). They began a prayer meeting that continued with singing 24 hrs/day for 300 years resulting in the first Celtic missions movement in history (see How the Irish Saved Civilization).
Clairvaux, France (1120): A Catholic monk named Bernard gathered 700 monks in a valley called Clairvaux (“Valley of Light”), and began a prayer meeting continuing 24 hrs/day for many years resulting in a dynamic release of evangelism through signs and wonders all across Europe.
Seoul, Korea: Over the past 40 years, under the leadership of David Yonggi Cho, night and day prayer has been going for over 30 years.
